Whooping cough cases up fivefold this year, with 108 as of this month
Whooping cough, or pertussis, cases are on the rise in Singapore. A sudden spike in recent weeks have pushed numbers up to a total of 108 as of early this month. This is five times more than the same period last year. Doctors have attributed the spike to year-end holiday travel and the lack of updated vaccination among adults. There is a national subsidy for the whooping cough vaccine and doctors are encouraging adults to get their jabs updated. Sabrina Ng reports.
