Xi hosts top diplomats of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, including Russia and India
Chinese President Xi Jinping has met with foreign ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation — including Russian top diplomat Sergey Lavrov and Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar — in Beijing. He urged member states to stay focused and play a more proactive role, amid a turbulent and evolving global landscape. According to state media reports, Mr Xi also highlighted the need for Beijing and Moscow to "strengthen mutual support" and "unite countries of the Global South".
