Xie Yao Quan on Preservation of Monuments (Amendment) Bill

The Preservation of Monuments (Amendment) Bill will accord national monuments the "highest level of legal protection" in Singapore, said MP Xie Yao Quan. Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday (Nov 2), he asked if the legal protection of national monuments can go beyond that which is accorded to conserved buildings. He also asked how the National Heritage Board intends to better educate the general public, particularly school children.
