Yeo Wan Ling on Workplace Fairness (Dispute Resolution) Bill

The Workplace Fairness (Dispute Resolution) Bill sets out how fairness is to be applied and resolved, said MP Yeo Wan Ling. Protection and due process now go hand in hand, empowering workers to seek redress safely, swiftly and without fear, she said in parliament on Tuesday (Nov 4). She stressed the need to require employers to establish proper grievance handling systems and protect employees from retaliation when they raise concerns. She highlighted the role of the labour movement and unions in helping workers to frame their cases clearly, mediate early before conflicts escalate and provide protection against power imbalances. She urged the government to continue to build resources to support workers through the grievance process.
