Yip Hon Weng on Competition (Amendment) Bill

The Competition (Amendment) Bill takes Singapore in the right direction - it streamlines enforcement, consolidates oversights and modernises the regulation of product safety, said MP Yip Hon Weng. Speaking in parliament on Tuesday (Apr 8), he stressed the need to get the details right and ensure that small businesses are supported, not drowned in red tape. He also urged the government to ensure that consumers know exactly where to go when they need help and give the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore the resources to do its job effectively.
