Yip Hon Weng on Electronic Conveyancing and Other Matters Bill
The Electronic Conveyancing and Other Matters Bill moves Singapore closer to a future where property transactions are seamless, secure and digital - where what once took weeks can be done in days and where technology serves as a bridge, said MP Yip Hon Weng. Speaking in parliament on Wednesday (Oct 15), he stressed the need to remember that the bill is also about people - ensuring that every Singaporean feels confident and included in the new digital journey, and building a system that is compassionate. He urged the government to ensure that the system is accountable so that when things go wrong, there is redress, transparency and fairness. He also highlighted the need to make it enduring so that the records of one generation remain safe in the hands of the next.
