Yip Hon Weng on Income Tax (Amendment) Bill
Local businesses which are struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic should be the target of the Government's support schemes, said MP Yip Hon Weng. Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday (Oct 5), he stressed the need to ensure that the assistance offered is timely and temporary, as the Government is running a tight ship with increased demands and expenses worsened by the pandemic. The Government must also ensure that tax exemptions meet their intended purpose of providing a lifeline to struggling businesses, he said.
