Yip Hon Weng on Land Transport and Related Matters Bill
The Land Transport and Related Matters Bill gives Singapore the tools but laws alone do not make the community safe - the choices in implementation do, said MP Yip Hon Weng. Speaking in parliament on Wednesday (Feb 4), he stressed the need to choose compassion alongside enforcement, clarity alongside regulation, and care alongside accountability. Mr Yip said the measure of the bill will not be found in the number of offences recorded - it will be found in fewer fires, safer footpaths and in the vulnerable who can move around without fear.
