09:49 Min

In enabling the public sector to share data with trusted partners on the ground to deliver services, what is important is not just having the tools but being able to earn and keep public trust in the process, said MP Yip Hon Weng. He raised concerns about allowing re-identification of anonymised data, delegation of ministerial authorisation for data sharing, proportionality of penalties to deter negligence or misuse, and transparency on how and why data is shared. Mr Yip spoke in parliament on Monday (Jan 12).
