Zaqy Mohamad on support for businesses in progressive wage transition

The Government recognises that the efforts to raise productivity take time and that in the immediate term, businesses may face cost pressures arising from progressive wage moves, said Senior Minister of State for Manpower Zaqy Mohamad. Replying to an MP's questions in Parliament on Wednesday (Feb 22), he highlighted the schemes to help businesses defray some of these costs in the transition. He said as Singapore expands the Progressive Wage Model to uplift low-wage workers, the Government will continue to support businesses to improve their productivity.
