JOHOR BAHRU: Two motorcyclists died in an accident involving several vehicles at the Tanjung Kupang toll plaza on Tuas Second Link on Friday morning (Dec 22).
The two victims, aged 49 and 54, collided with a lorry at about 5.50am, said Iskandar Puteri district police chief Rahmat Ariffin.
The motorcyclists were believed to be on their way to work in Singapore. They suffered serious injuries and died at the scene, said Rahmat.
The 45-year-old lorry driver was believed to have lost control of the vehicle due to brake problems, the police chief added. It also collided with a trailer and a bus ferrying 29 passengers.

Rahmat said the lorry driver suffered chest pain due to the crash and received treatment at a hospital.
“However, the drivers of the trailer and the bus, as well as all 29 bus passengers, escaped unhurt. All bus passengers have also been transferred to another bus and resumed their journey to Singapore,” he said.
The bodies of the two motorcyclists were taken to Sultanah Aminah Hospital. Investigations are ongoing.
