Japan's largest lender MUFG logs 438% jump in fourth quarter profit

TOKYO, May 15 : Japan's largest banking group Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group logged a 438 per cent surge in fourth-quarter profit, it said on Friday.
Net profit for the January-March period was 613.7 billion yen ($3.87 billion), up from 114 billion yen over the same period in the previous year.
MUFG was the third of Japan's "megabanks" to register record annual net profit in the financial year to March 2026, reaching 2.43 trillion yen ($15.34 billion).
