Japan's Sumitomo Forestry to acquire US builder Tri Pointe Homes for about $4.5 billion

TOKYO, Feb 13 : Japan's Sumitomo Forestry agreed to acquire U.S. homebuilder Tri Pointe Homes for $47.00 per share in cash, valuing the deal at about $4.5 billion, the companies said on Friday.
The offer represents a 29 per cent premium to Tri Pointe Homes' closing price on Thursday, the companies said in a joint statement.
