The new Online Safety Commission (OSC) to help victims of online harms secure swift content takedowns and restrict offender accounts has opened its doors on Monday (29 Jun). It’s meant to help victims deal with online harms such as doxxing, online harassment, stalking and the sharing of harmful content via a more direct legal avenue to seek help. With the OSC in effect, will it drive people to behave better online or will it make people complacent, leaving the policing to the authorities?
