In ‘Made in SG’ Melanie Oliveiro speaks to the founders of pottery studio Common Touch: ceramic artists Fyon Cheong and Zestro Leow. They’ll talk about how their studio came about and why they plan to grow Common Touch as a community hub using clay as a powerful connector that fosters shared human experiences. Leow and Cheong will also talk about how they work with people from all walks of life as well as corporate clients. They’ll also describe the Common Touch Craft Festival, featuring more than 300 booths showcasing everything from handcrafted ceramics to digital illustrations.

In ‘Culture Club’ Melanie Oliveiro speaks to the organisers behind 28 Frames, a curated exhibition of 28 artworks by local artists installed throughout two heritage shophouses turned co-working spaces at Keong Saik and Ann Siang Road. A collaboration between art consultancy and gallery Fiidaa Art and co-working space brand The Working Capitol, the 28 selected artworks are strategically exhibited in everyday communal spaces - like stairwells, co-working rooms and lounges. One of the artists Charles Wong will talk about his works which feature dotted calligraphic forms in multiple languages and why each dot carries a symbolic weight.

Local authorities are open to ideas that can improve the commute between Singapore and Johor, but have no plans to fully liberalise cross-border ride-hailing services. However, it is considering the use of ride-hailing apps to book cross-border trips on licensed taxis and increasing the number of boarding and alighting points in the two countries. Hong Kong is on track to be the world’s top IPO venue this year. In the first half of 2025, some 44 companies went public in Hong Kong, a 47% jump from the same period last year. IPO proceeds increased sevenfold to HK$107.1 billion, catapulting HKEX to the top of global exchanges for the first half.
