In ‘Destination Anywhere’, Melanie Oliveiro finds out where art lovers can view the works of Shanghai-based artist Ge Hui – whose artworks are often described by critics as surreal, meditative and poetic. Irina Stark, a Los Angeles-based art advisor and curator with a particular focus on the Asia Pacific region, will discuss Ge Hui’s first solo exhibition in Singapore  called “Games People Play”, a series of paintings created around the time of the Shanghai COVID-19 lockdown. Stark will talk about how Ge Hui’s artworks explore the subtle, often unspoken psychological strategies that shape human relationships, social roles, and cultural performances.

In ‘Destination Anywhere’, Melanie Oliveiro discovers where fans of POP MART characters like Labubu, Baby Molly and SKULLPANDA can see them as larger-than-life sculptures this Chinese New Year. Kevin Zhang from global toy brand POP MART, will talk about their partnership with Resorts World Sentosa called the “Gallop into POP-SPERITY“, specially curated for the Year of the Horse. Zhang will talk about how this is the brand’s first-ever resort-wide activation, bringing together 12 of the brand’s most beloved characters, each reimagined through a festive lens inspired by this year’s zodiac. He’ll describe how the installations are located throughout the resort’s spaces, offering guests the opportunity to take selfies and collect ‘passport’ stamps too.

Alex Chan from electricity provider and retailer Geneco will talk more about the significance of their #WhereProsperityBlooms campaign and how they worked with partners such as the Garden City Fund, Marshall Cavendish Education, and SG Recycle to bring it about. Chan will also tell listeners where they can go to recycle their hongbaos or red packets – via Geneco’s Used Red Packet Recycling Initiative which this year spans an islandwide network of over 250 collection points.
