As works get under way for Singapore's Long Island project, the vision for the coastline is starting to take shape. New waterfront neighbourhoods, a freshwater reservoir for water sports, beaches, and new parks – all while protecting the East Coast from rising sea levels. Andrea Heng and Hairianto Diman find out more about the Long Island project that’s set to begin work end-2026 and its environmental impact.
