In ‘Culture Club’, Melanie Oliveiro speaks with sculptor and installation artist Chok Si Xuan about her 2025 work, ‘solid_state’, a kinetic sculpture installation. It is now exhibiting at the Singapore Art Museum’s ‘SAM Contemporaries: How To Dream Worlds’, an exhibition featuring newly commissioned works by six Singaporean artists. Chok will talk more about her kinetic sculptures that she constructed by draping certain materials over electrical components and why they’re designed to mimic human gestures. SAM curator Angelica Ong will discuss Chok’s work and the other artists’ as well.

Creators Dushyant Pawaskar and Agnisha Ghosh will talk about why they come up with the idea for the book and its protagonists, and how it could spark a love for reading and outdoor exploration for families.
