She’ll discuss the main characters in her debut book - three extraordinary women: a mother, her daughter, and their maid, who are each forced on a journey to survival during the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong in World War II. The UK-born Australian author will also talk about how the novel was inspired by her grandfather’s wartime experiences.
