27 Singaporeans and seven Malaysians are wanted by the police for being part of a scam syndicate operating out of Cambodia. They are allegedly part of a gang that targets victims in Singapore through government official impersonation scams. The group is believed to be responsible for over 430 cases, involving losses of at least 41 million Singapore dollars. How do members of scam syndicates like this one get to know each other and how shocking is it that they use legitimate recruitment firms to get "new hires"? More than 7,600 in-house security officers will get pay rises of up to $160 a year over the next three years, under the Progressive Wage Model. By 2028, the entry-level wages for security officers will be around $2,795, senior officers around $2,995, and security supervisors $3,225. But even with the increased PWM wages, there’s still a long way to go to reach the median salary for full-time employed Singapore residents of $5,500.
