CNA938 Rewind - Is there a limit to supporting lower-income families?
The number of lower-income families who received help from a key government financial aid scheme fell to a five-year low in 2024. The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) states that the fall in the numbers reflected “an expansion in the economy and labour market from 2020 to 2024”, on top of support from other government schemes. Andrea Heng and Hairianto Diman speak with Mohksin Mohd Rashid, Excutive Director, AMP, to look at how far these schemes can help lower-income families and if there’s a limit to such assistance.
