Students making up the pioneer batch of the Integrative Studies degree programme at Singapore Management University are at a crossroads – they’re in their second year, when they get to assemble their specialty degree based on foundation subjects. But can a hyper-customised degree make one too specialised when it’s time to look for a job? Or is this an experiment that gives graduates more freedom and competitive edge?
