Top US diplomat Antony Blinken said a Gaza ceasefire deal needs to get done in the coming days. He made the comment in Qatar, as he wrapped up his latest visit to the Middle East. Israel had agreed to an American proposal on bridging gaps to seal a truce. While Hamas said it is keen to reach a ceasefire agreement, it complained that the latest proposal was a “reversal” of what it had agreed to.
