Daily Cuts - Japan releases treated water from Fukushima nuclear plant
Japan is releasing treated water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant into the Pacific Ocean on Thursday, 24 Aug. The water will be released over 30 years. But neighbouring countries have been opposing this - like China and South Korea. Cities like Hong Kong and Macau will implement a seafood import ban against 10 Japan regions starting Thursday too. Stephen Nagy, Professor of Politics and International Studies, International Christian University explains if there is a political component to this decision.
