After discovering that his mum grew up on Ubin, Nor Syazwan Abdul Majid felt this affinity towards the popular touristy island and wanted to do more as a descendant of the islanders of Pulau Ubin. He wants to preserve the heritage and culture of the residents of Pulau Ubin. The SUSS undergraduate is now working with NParks to restore some houses on the island. Singapore Today’s Lance Alexander and Daniel Martin speak with Syazwan, and Robert Teo, Director of Pulau Ubin from the National Parks Board.
