10 new Covid-19 cases in Singapore, all imported

SINGAPORE — Singapore on Sunday (April 4) reported 10 new imported cases of Covid-19. There were no cases in the wider community.

The Ministry of Health said that all 10 had been placed on stay-home notices or isolated upon their arrival here.

Eight of them had no symptoms.

  Two are student's pass holders who came from India and the United States

• Seven are work permit holders who arrived from Bangladesh, India and Malaysia, of whom two are foreign domestic workers

• One is a special pass holder; a sea crew who arrived from Malaysia on a vessel and was tested onboard

Overall, the number of new community cases, as well as that of unlinked community infections, have remained stable at two a week in the past fortnight, MOH said.

Sunday's tally brings the total number of infections in Singapore to 60,478.

In all, 60,202 have fully recovered from the infection, including the 17 discharged on Sunday.

There are currently 40 patients who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and one is in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

Another 206 people with mild symptoms, or who are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19, are isolated at community facilities.

Thirty people have died from complications due to Covid-19 infection.
