11 new Covid-19 cases in Singapore, all imported

SINGAPORE — Singapore reported 11 new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday (Feb 21), all of which were imported.

All 11 had been placed on stay-home notice upon arrival in Singapore, the Ministry of Health said in a press release, adding that there were no new locally transmitted cases.

Among the 11 imported cases:

• Two are Singaporeans and one is a Singapore permanent resident who returned from India and Nepal

  Three are dependant’s pass holders who arrived from India and the United Arab Emirates

• One is a long-term visit pass holder who arrived from Myanmar

• One is a work pass holder who arrived from Mexico

• Three are work permit holders who arrived from Bangladesh, India and Indonesia, of whom one is a foreign domestic worker

Of the 11, only one had symptoms.

MOH said that overall, the number of new cases in the community has decreased from seven cases in the week before to one in the past week.

The number of unlinked cases in the community has also dropped from four cases in the week before to one in the past week.

UPDATE ON CONDITION OF CONFIRMED CASES

Sunday's tally brings the total number of Covid-19 cases in Singapore to 59,869.

Of these, 59,731 have fully recovered, including 12 who were discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities on Sunday.

There are currently 22 patients who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and one is in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

Another 87 with mild symptoms, or who are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19, are isolated at community facilities.

Twenty-nine people have died from complications due to Covid-19 infection.
