12 new Covid-19 cases in Singapore, all imported

SINGAPORE — Singapore reported 12 new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday (March 28), all of which were imported.

They had already been isolated or placed on stay-home notice upon arriving in Singapore, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said.

Ten of them had no symptoms, the ministry added.

  One is a Singaporean and two are Singapore permanent residents who returned from India

• One is a dependant's pass holder who came from Nepal

• Two are work pass holders who arrived from India and Nepal

• Five are work permit holders who came from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia and the Philippines, of whom four are foreign domestic workers

• One is a short-term visit pass holder who arrived from the United States for a work project in Singapore

Overall, the number of new cases as well as unlinked cases in the community has increased from none in the week before to two cases in the past week, MOH said.

UPDATE ON CONDITION OF CONFIRMED CASES

The total number of Covid-19 cases in Singapore now stands at 60,300.

In all, 60,122 have fully recovered from the infection, including nine who were discharged from hospitals or community care facilities on Sunday.

There are currently 33 patients who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and one is in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

Another 115 with mild symptoms, or who are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19, are isolated at community facilities.

Thirty people have died from complications due to Covid-19 infection.
