SINGAPORE — Singapore on Wednesday (Dec 16) reported 12 new imported cases of Covid-19. There are no cases in the wider community.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) said that 10 of the infected people have no symptoms.

The imported cases include two Singaporeans — a 39-year-old man who returned from Indonesia and a 50-year-old woman with travel history to Australia — as well as two permanent residents with travel histories to India and the Philippines.

Another four cases are work permit holders — all women aged between 25 and 36 — who had arrived from India, Indonesia and Myanmar.

  • A long-term visit pass holder from India

  • A short-term visit pass holder from the United States who is here to visit his Singaporean wife

All 12 imported cases had been placed on stay-home notices or isolated upon their arrival in Singapore and they were tested for the coronavirus.

Overall, the number of new cases in the community has remained low with no new cases in the past week, MOH said.
