There were 13 new cases of Covid-19 infection in Singapore on Tuesday (Dec 29), all imported.
SINGAPORE — There were 13 new cases of Covid-19 infection in Singapore on Tuesday (Dec 29), all imported.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) said in its latest update that there were no new cases of locally transmitted infection.
Amongst the new cases, 10 were asymptomatic, and were detected from proactive screening and surveillance, while three were symptomatic.
Of the 13 imported cases, one is a Singaporean and two are Singapore Permanent Residents who returned from Indonesia, the United States and India.
Another nine are work permit holders who arrived from Bangladesh, Malaysia and Indonesia, of whom seven are foreign domestic workers.
The remaining case is a short-term visit pass holder who arrived from Indonesia for a work project in Singapore.
All the imported cases had already been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) or isolated upon arrival in Singapore and were tested while serving SHN or under isolation.
UPDATE ON CONDITION OF CONFIRMED CASES
Fourteen more cases of Covid-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.
In all, 58,400 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.
There are currently 37 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and none is in the intensive care unit.
Another 76 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19.
So far, 29 have passed away from complications due to the coronavirus infection.
