14 new Covid-19 cases in Singapore, all imported

SINGAPORE — There were 14 new imported cases of Covid-19 reported in Singapore on Tuesday (April 13) and no cases in the wider community.

In its update on the coronavirus situation here, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said that all 14 people had been placed on stay-home notices upon their arrival here and were tested while serving quarantine.

They are:

  Two dependant's pass holders who arrived from Nepal and Pakistan

• Four student's pass holders who came from India

• One work pass holder who arrived from Indonesia

• Two work permit holders who came from India and Indonesia — one of whom is a foreign domestic worker

• Three short-term visit pass holders who arrived from India and Nigeria to visit their family members here

Overall, the number of new cases in the community has remained stable at two a week in the past two weeks, MOH said.

The number of cases in the community that have no known links to confirmed cases has also remained stable at two a week in the past two weeks.

UPDATE ON REMAINING CASES

The total number of infections in Singapore is now 60,692.

Of these, 60,374 people have fully recovered and been discharged, including 17 on Tuesday.

There are still 61 patients in hospitals. Of these, most are stable or improving, and one is in critical condition in the intensive care unit, MOH said.

Another 227 patients are isolated at community facilities. They have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still tested positive for Covid-19.

Thirty people have died from complications due to the disease.
