15 new Covid-19 cases in Singapore, all imported
SINGAPORE — Singapore reported 15 new cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday (March 24), all of which were imported.
In its evening update on the coronavirus situation here, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said that 14 of the 15 people had no symptoms.
All 15 had been placed on stay-home notices or isolated upon their arrival here and were tested while serving quarantine.
They are:
A dependant’s pass holder who came from Indonesia
Two work pass holders who came from India
Three Singaporean who arrived from Indonesia and the United Kingdom
Nine work permit holders who arrived from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia and Malaysia, of whom one is a foreign domestic worker
Overall, the number of new cases in the community, as well as those with no links to confirmed cases, dropped from two cases in the week before to none in the past week, MOH said.
It also gave updates on the Covid-19 viral fragments found on Sunday after testing wastewater from the UTown Residence North Tower at the National University of Singapore.
The ministry said that 438 individuals, excluding the recovered case, were swabbed, and 437 results have come back negative. One is still pending.
UPDATE ON REMAINING CASES
The total number of infections in Singapore is now 60,236.
Of these, 60,078 people have fully recovered and been discharged, including 15 who were discharged on Wednesday.
There are still 25 patients in hospitals. Of these, most are stable or improving, and none is in the intensive care unit, MOH said.
Another 103 patients are isolated at community facilities. They have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still tested positive for Covid-19.
Thirty people have died from complications due to the disease.
