17 new Covid-19 cases in Singapore, all imported

SINGAPORE — Singapore on Sunday (March 14) registered 17 new cases of Covid-19, all of which were imported.

All 17 had already been placed on stay-home notice upon arrival in Singapore, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said.

Among the 17 imported cases:

• Four are dependant’s pass holders who arrived from France, India and Nepal

  One is a long-term visit pass holder who came from India

• One is a student’s pass holder who arrived from India

• One is a work pass holder who came from Nepal

• Eight are work permit holders who arrived from Bangladesh, India, Myanmar and the Philippines, of whom one is a foreign domestic worker

• Two are short-term visit pass holders who came from the Philippines and India

Overall, the number of new cases in the community has decreased from four cases in the week before to two in the past week, MOH said.

The number of unlinked cases in the community has also dipped from three cases in the week before to two in the past week.

UPDATE ON CONDITION OF CONFIRMED CASES

The total number of infections in Singapore now stands at 60,105.

Of these, 59,968 have fully recovered from the infection, including seven who were discharged on Sunday.

There are currently 17 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and none is in the intensive care unit.

Another 90 people with mild symptoms, or who are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19, are isolated and cared for at community facilities.

Thirty people have died from complications due to Covid-19 infection.
