3 new imported Covid-19 cases in Singapore, including a 9-year-old boy

SINGAPORE — There were three new imported cases of Covid-19 reported here on Friday (Dec 4) and none in the community.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) said in its evening update that the three imported cases are:

• A 57-year-old Singaporean man who showed onset symptoms on Wednesday

• A nine-year-old boy who is a short-term visit pass holder and who had no symptoms

  A 58-year-old man who is a permanent resident who also had no symptoms

All of them had travel histories to India and they had been placed on stay-home notices upon their arrival in Singapore.

They were tested for the coronavirus during their quarantine.

Overall, the number of new cases in the community has remained low with a total of four cases in the past week who have no known links to other infections so far, MOH said.

UPDATES ON REMAINING CASES

The total number of infections in Singapore now stands at 58,242.

Of these, 58,152 people have fully recovered and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities, including one on Friday.

There are still 28 patients in hospitals and most are in stable condition or improving. No one is in intensive care.

Another 33 patients are isolated at community facilities. They have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still tested positive for Covid-19.
