SINGAPORE — Singapore confirmed four new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday (Nov 1), all of which were imported.

There were no locally transmitted cases, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said in a press release.

The four imported cases had all been placed on stay-home notice upon arrival in Singapore.

Three of them were asymptomatic and were detected through proactive screening and surveillance programmes.

Among the four, two are Singapore permanent residents who returned from India and the United Kingdom.

The remaining two cases are currently employed in Singapore — a work pass holder who arrived from the Netherlands and a work permit holder who came from the Philippines.

Overall, the number of new cases in the community has remained low, with a total of two cases in the past week. Both cases are currently unlinked, MOH said.

The total number of infections in Singapore now stands at 58,019.

Of these, 57,924 have fully recovered from Covid-19 infection, including the 11 that had been discharged as on noon on Sunday.

There are currently 46 patients who are still in hospital. Most of them are stable or improving, and none is in the intensive care unit.

Another 21 cases with mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive, are isolated at community facilities.

Twenty-eight people have died from complications due to Covid-19 infection.
