49-year-old cyclist dies in accident involving bus at NTU

SINGAPORE — A 49-year-old cyclist died on Monday night (May 3) after an accident involving a bus at Nanyang Technological University (NTU).

The police said that they were alerted to the accident along Nanyang Crescent towards Nanyang Drive at 8.40pm on Monday.

The woman, who TODAY understands to be Wong Siew Yuen, was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic.

A photo posted on social media showed a police tent set up near a zebra crossing and behind a stationary private bus.

Chinese-language newspaper Shin Min Daily News reported that the woman was a factory supervisor and that a male friend was cycling in front of her at the time of the accident.

Police investigations are ongoing.
