5 new Covid-19 cases in Singapore, all imported
SINGAPORE — Singapore on Sunday (Dec 6) reported five new cases of Covid-19, all of which were imported.
All five had been placed on stay-home notice upon arrival in Singapore, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said. Four of them had no symptoms.
There were no new cases of local transmission.
Overall, the number of new cases in the community has remained low, with a total of three cases in the past week, of which two are currently unlinked, MOH said.
Among the five imported cases, two are work permit holders currently employed in Singapore who arrived from Indonesia.
One is a dependant’s pass holder who arrived from the United States.
The remaining two cases are short-term visit pass holders.
One is the child of a Singapore permanent resident who arrived from the United Kingdom.
The other, who came from Indonesia, is here for her marriage to a Singaporean.
The number of Covid-19 cases in Singapore now stands at 58,260.
Of these, 58,160 have fully recovered from the infection, including two discharged on Sunday.
There are currently 27 patients who are still in hospital. Most of them are stable or improving, and none is in the intensive care unit.
Another 44 who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19, are isolated at community facilities.
Twenty-nine people have died from complications due to Covid-19 infection.
