5 new Covid-19 cases in Singapore, all imported
There were five new Covid-19 cases in Singapore on Monday (Nov 16), all imported.
SINGAPORE — There were five imported cases of Covid-19 in Singapore as of noon on Monday (Nov 16), the Ministry of Health (MOH) said.
All were imported cases and had already been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore, and all were asymptomatic.
Amongst these cases, two are Singaporeans who returned from the United Kingdom and India.
Another two are long-term visit pass holders who arrived from Russia and Indonesia.
The remaining case is a work permit holder currently employed in Singapore who arrived from Indonesia.
The total number of Covid-19 cases in Singapore now stands at 58,124.
Overall, the number of new cases in the community has remained low, with a total of one case in the past week, which is currently unlinked, MOH said.
“We will continue to closely monitor these numbers, as well as the cases detected through our surveillance programme.”
UPDATE ON CONFIRMED CASES
Four more cases of Covid-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.
In all, 58,033 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.
There are currently 40 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and none is in the intensive care unit.
Another 23 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19.
So far, 28 people in Singapore have passed away from complications due to the coronavirus.
