65-year-old man arrested for alleged attempted murder of man, 37, found with burn wounds
SINGAPORE — A 65-year-old man was arrested for his suspected involvement in the attempted murder of a 37-year-old man on Wednesday (Dec 28).
The police said in a statement on Thursday that they had received a call for assistance along Marsiling Crescent at about 10.10pm on Wednesday.
Officers who arrived at the scene found the younger man with burn wounds and arrested the older man.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said separately that it was alerted at 10.10pm on Wednesday to an incident at Block 210 Marsiling Crescent.
TODAY understands that it took place near a coffee shop at the block.
The younger man was taken conscious to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital with burn injuries, the police and SCDF said.
The older man will be charged on Friday with attempted murder.
The offence of attempted murder carries a penalty of life imprisonment and caning, or a jail term of up to 20 years and fine or caning, or both.
Police investigations are ongoing.
