SINGAPORE — About 880,000 Singaporean households in public housing will receive the next installment of the GST Voucher - Utilities-Save (U-Save) rebate this month, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement on Monday (Oct 2).
Eligible households will receive a voucher of up to S$95, depending on the type of their Housing and Development Board (HDB) flat, the ministry said.
Those living in 1 and 2 rooms flats will receive the most rebates at S$95, while those living in executive or multi-generation flats will receive S$55.
The U-Save rebate is one of three components of the permanent GST Voucher scheme and is distributed every three months. It aims to help HDB households offset part of their utility bills and serves to help lower overall household expenses, the ministry added.
The U-Save rebate is expected to cost the government S$265 million over the next year, starting from July 2017.
