91 new Covid-19 infections in Singapore, including 6 imported cases; no new cases in the community
SINGAPORE — Singapore has confirmed 91 new cases of Covid-19, including six that are imported.
There were no cases in the community. The remaining 85 are migrant workers in dormitories.
In a press release on Monday (Aug 17), the Ministry of Health (MOH) said that the six imported cases include two Singaporeans, one permanent resident, two work pass holders and a work permit holder.
The two Singaporeans and one permanent resident had returned from India between Aug 5 and Aug 16, while the three other imported cases had arrived from India, Indonesia and the United States on Aug 5.
They had all been placed on a 14-day stay-home notice and tested positive while serving their notices at dedicated facilities.
Overall, the number of new cases in the community has remained stable at an average of two cases a day in the past two weeks, MOH said.
The number of unlinked cases in the community has also remained stable at an average of one case a day in the past 14 days.
There were also no new locations added to MOH’s list of places visited by Covid-19 patients while they were infectious.
Separately, the ministry added that three more dormitories have been cleared of the disease and now house only recovered individuals and those who have recently tested negative for the coronavirus. They are no longer classified as a cluster.

UPDATES ON THE REMAINING CASES
The total number of infections in Singapore now stands at 55,838.
Of these, 52,350 people have fully recovered and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities, including 397 on Monday.
There are still 82 patients in hospitals and most are in stable condition or improving. No one is in intensive care.
Another 3,379 patients are isolated and being cared for at community facilities. They have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still tested positive for Covid-19.
Twenty-seven people have died from complications due to Covid-19.
