SINGAPORE — Air quality in Singapore, which was mostly in the unhealthy range yesterday, improved today (Sept 20), with the 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) hovering in the moderate range since 10am. At 9pm, the 24-hour PSI stood at 74-87. The three-hour PSI registered 74.
The National Environment Agency (NEA) said that slightly hazy conditions are expected to persist tonight. Seventy-three hotspots were detected in Sumatra today, said the NEA. The low count was due to cloud cover over parts of Sumatra.
Tomorrow, occasional hazy conditions can be expected, with the prevailing winds expected to blow from the south-east or south. The 24-hour PSI for the next 24 hours is expected to be in the high end of the moderate range and the low end of the unhealthy range, said the NEA.
Thundery showers are forecast for some areas of Singapore tomorrow afternoon.
