SINGAPORE – Sunday appears to be the earliest that many Singaporeans wanting to try Amazon's new online shopping service here can get their deliveries, as a surge of demand appears to have overwhelmed the online retailer's delivery operations.
For a second day in a row, following Amazon's highly-anticipated Singapore launch on Thursday (July 27), consumers looking to place orders via the Amazon Prime Now app were notified that delivery services were unavailable.
Those who continued to place orders were told in a subsequent message at the checkout that all delivery windows for Friday and Saturday had been fully taken.

“All remaining delivery windows for today and tomorrow are currently unavailable. Check again later for updates, or try again tomorrow,” the message on the app said.
A similar scenario played out mere hours after Amazon’s launch in the Republic on Thursday, when some customers were told that "delivery is unavailable". Customers also experienced delays in downloading the app, in some cases.
An Amazon spokesperson said on Thursday: “We are thrilled customers in Singapore love ultra-fast delivery as much as we do. We encourage customers to check back on the Prime Now app soon.”
