SINGAPORE: This September, the Education Services Union is reaching out to some 30,000 non-teaching staff in private education institutions.
Calling them the "unsung heroes" of the industry, the union is having a month-long appreciation movement.
Kicking off the celebrations was a tea reception at the Parliament House on Friday.
The union roped in bosses of private education organisations to prepare and serve local dishes to their staff as a gesture of thanks.
Guests also received star balloons from National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan, who is chairman of the union's council of advisors.
