Biggest group of Singapore Service Excellence Medallion Award winners announced
SINGAPORE – The largest crop of winners for the Singapore Service Excellence Medallion Award have been unveiled, with 12 organisations and four people set to receive the award at a ceremony next Monday (May 18).
This year’s winners include nightspot Zouk Club, electronics company Canon, and the National Library Board. This is the first time small and medium enterprises (SMEs) have won organisation awards. They will receive the award from Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Manpower Minister Lim Swee Say.
Speaking at a media briefing this morning (May 14), Professor Cham Tao Soon, who chairs the Medallion Judging Panel, said: “As our service landscape continues to evolve, all stakeholders – organisations, service staff and consumers, will have an integral role in achieving our desired service experience.”
He noted that this year’s winners reflected a good mix of companies, from larger organisations to smaller newcomers.
The panel selected the winners after a four-month assessment period, which included a public voting exercise in April for the organisation awards. There are four organisation award categories, and two award categories for individuals.
