Changi Airport T3 eateries, Plaza Singapura among places visited by Covid-19 cases while infectious

SINGAPORE — Two eateries at Changi Airport Terminal 3 and shops in Plaza Singapura and Tampines town were among several public places added to a list of locations visited by Covid-19 cases during their infectious period.

In its nightly update on the coronavirus situation on Sunday (May 9), the Ministry of Health (MOH) said that the infectious persons had visited:

• Sheng Siong Supermarket at Junction 9 on May 5 between 3.15pm and 4.10pm

• Uniqlo at Tampines Mall on May 5 between 4.05pm and 4.45pm

  Sheng Siong Supermarket at 506 Tampines Central 1 on May 5 between 5.50pm and 6.20pm

• Snip Avenue at 419 Tampines Street 41 on May 5 between 6.20pm and 6.50pm

• Co Chung at Plaza Singapura on May 6 between 2.15pm and 3.10pm

• Uniqlo at Plaza Singapura on May 6 between 3.10pm and 4.10pm

• Heavenly Wang at Changi Airport Terminal 3 on May 6 between 4.45pm and 5.45pm, and on May 7 between 5.30pm and 6.30pm

• Don Don Donki at JEM mall on May 6 between 5.10pm and 6.10pm

• Encik Tan at Changi Airport Terminal 3 on May 6 between 7.30pm and 8pm

MOH said that it would have already notified individuals who were identified as close contacts of confirmed cases.

"As a precautionary measure, persons who had been at these locations during the specified timings should monitor their health closely for 14 days from their date of visit," it added.

"They should see a doctor promptly if they develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection — such as cough, sore throat and runny nose — as well as fever and loss of taste or smell, and inform the doctor of their exposure history."

MOH added that individuals may also use the SafeEntry Location Matching Self-Check service via the TraceTogether contact-tracing application, SingPass Mobile or at https://wereyouthere.safeentry.gov.sg, to check whether they were at these locations during the specified times, based on their SafeEntry check-in records.

Members of the public do not have to avoid places where confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been, MOH said.

The National Environment Agency will engage the management of the affected premises to provide guidance on cleaning and disinfection.

On Sunday, Singapore recorded 28 new cases of Covid-19, 10 of which were in the community. The remaining 18 infections were imported.
