Singapore

Counterterrorism social media network set up

18 Apr 2015 04:17AM (Updated: 18 Apr 2015 07:57AM)

A social media network was yesterday launched to encourage the sharing of best practices worldwide to counter terrorism. A Facebook page has been set up for the Strategies on Aftercare and Reintegration Network, which was launched at the East Asia Summit Symposium on Religious Rehabilitation and Social Reintegration.

The platform aims to develop a repository of resources and strategies to counter extremist propaganda online, develop new capabilities to “immunise” communities against extremism and rehabilitate radicalised individuals

It will be managed by the International Centre for Political Violence and Terrorism Research at the S Rajaratnam School of International Studies. The Centre for Conflict and Peace Studies in Afghanistan and Singapore’s Religious Rehabilitation Group are among the organisations that will also contribute to the repository. KELLY NG
