Covid-19: All returning Singaporeans, PRs and long-term pass holders to serve stay-home notice at dedicated facilities
The new requirement applies even to returnees who live alone at their place of residence, the Ministry of Health said.
SINGAPORE — From 11:59pm on Thursday (April 9), all returning Singapore citizens, permanent residents and long-term pass holders entering Singapore will have to isolate themselves for 14 days at dedicated stay-home notice (SHN) facilities, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) in a statement on Wednesday.
At present, only those returning from the United Kingdom, the United States, Association of Southeast Asian Nation (Asean) countries, France, India and Switzerland have to serve out a 14-day stay-home notice period at dedicated facilities.
TODAY understands that the new requirement applies even to returnees who live alone at their place of residence.
Returnees who are already in Singapore will continue to serve out their stay-home notices at their current locations.
“We have since stepped up capacity and are now able to accommodate fresh returnees from all countries,” said MOH.
“Nevertheless, if there are unexpected capacity constraints — for example, due to a larger-than-expected number of returnees — we may prioritise the dedicated SHN facilities for returnees from certain regions or countries, based on risk assessment.”
All returnees who disregarded prevailing travel advisories and left Singapore from March 27 would be required to bear the full cost of their 14-day stay-home notice at the dedicated facilities, MOH added.
