SINGAPORE — Customers on Singapore Airlines’ (SIA) frequent flyer programme, KrisFlyer, can now earn miles when they fly on Scoot and Tigerair – but only if they opt for premium bundles for their flight on the budget airlines.

KrisFlyer members who opt for Scoot’s PlusPerks or Tigerair’s FlexiCombo bundles for their flights can earn miles, said SIA, Scoot and Tigerair in a joint news release yesterday (Sept 29).

Scoot’s PlusPerks bundles give passengers benefits like ticket flexibility (the ability to make one date or name change with administrative fees waived), priority check-in and fast boarding privileges, as well as the choice for a preferred seat with extra legroom, among others.

Those who opt for FlexiCombo on Tigerair can enjoy 15kg check-in baggage, free upfront seat selection, and one-time fee waiver on date change.

“With this launch, our members can now earn and redeem KrisFlyer miles across the Singapore Airlines Group portfolio of airlines,” said Singapore Airlines’ Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, Ms Lee Wen Fen.

The option for members to redeem miles for vouchers for travel on Scoot and Tigerair, or to pay for selected products offered by the two low-cost carriers, was made available earlier in April.
