SINGAPORE: A 54-year-old man was charged on Monday (Jul 1) with showing his 10-year-old daughter pornography and performing an indecent act with her.Â
The Singaporean man cannot be named due to gag orders protecting his daughter's identity.
He was handed three charges: Committing an indecent act with a child under the Children and Young Persons Act, exhibiting pornography to a child and possessing 140 obscene films.
According to the charges, the man committed the indecent act and showed his daughter a pornographic video in 2019.
He was then found with 140 obscene films on Feb 11, 2023.
The man indicated that he would be pleading guilty and was given a date to do so in August.
If convicted of an indecent act with a child, he can be jailed for up to five years, fined up to S$10,000, or both if he is a first offender.
If found guilty of showing pornography to a minor, he could be jailed for up to a year, fined, or both.
If convicted of possessing obscene films, he can be jailed for up to six months, fined up to S$20,000, or both.
